Ideal for everyone
The Xivares sandy stretch is, in fact, two beaches. It consists of Xivares 1 and Peña María, or Xivares 2, joining together. Together they form an 800-metre stretch of white sand, with moderate waves and a width that varies considerably depending on the tides.
At low tide, they merge with Aboño beach, and all three can be seen from the top of Campa de Torres, offering an interesting panoramic view of the coastal plain stretching as far as Cabo Peñas.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted between 15 May and 15 October.
- From 1 May to 14 May and from 16 October to 31 October, pets are permitted until 10.00 and from 19.00, with pets not permitted between 10.00 and 19.00.
- Animals must not cause a nuisance to other users, and the owner must maintain control over the animal at all times.
- On seafront and urban promenades, and in areas near beach access points, pets will be permitted provided they are kept on a fixed lead no longer than one metre; where necessary due to the animal’s characteristics, they must wear a muzzle.
- It is mandatory to collect animal faeces and dispose of them in properly sealed rubbish bins, preferably, or in any other receptacle provided for this purpose by the local authority.
