A former whaling port, situated on the island of Entrellusa since 1232.
Two small coves separated by a headland – this is Carranques Beach, situated in the residential town of Perlora. It is a very popular sandy beach with good facilities.
With golden sand and moderate waves, almost all of its sandy area is submerged at high tide. Its surroundings are of great scenic interest, featuring coves, caves and lush vegetation.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted between 15 May and 15 October.
- From 1 May to 14 May and from 16 October to 31 October, pets are permitted until 10.00 and from 19.00, with pets not permitted between 10.00 and 19.00.
- Animals must not cause a nuisance to other users, and the owner must maintain control over the animal at all times.
- On seafront and urban promenades, and in areas near beach access points, pets will be permitted provided they are kept on a fixed lead no longer than one metre; where necessary due to the animal’s characteristics, they must wear a muzzle.
