It takes its name from a small islet that can be reached on foot at low tide
La Isla beach is a long, golden stretch of sand, 800 metres long, which is windy and has strong waves. The islet from which it takes its name is situated on the left-hand side of the beach and is connected to it at low tide by a sandbar. To the east lies an area known as El Barrigón, another beach accessible at low tide.
A notable feature of the area is a stretch of cliffs between 50 and 75 metres high, of great natural and cultural value, as remains of Castrean and Roman settlements have been found in the vicinity.
