Info
It has a skiable area of 30.6 km of slopes with access to 1 cable car, 2 quad chairlifts, 2 chairlifts and 2 ski lifts. It also has 2 cross-country slopes, 1 ski touring slope, 2 competition stadiums, a nursery and a specific area for sledges that allow the practice of different skiing modalities.
It has an artificial snow system with snow cannons distributed along 3 km of slopes. The resort offers a multitude of services at the foot of the slopes: one hundred and fifty places for accommodation, in the form of hotel and hostel, cafeteria, ski equipment hire and repairs and children's nursery.
It also has the Valgrande-Pajares Ski School, with more than 30 qualified professionals. Strategically located (just over half an hour from Oviedo and Gijón), it is one of the few resorts with dual access roads in and out.
Access is from both the Asturian and León sides, via the N-630 road, which links Oviedo and León, passing through Puerto de Pajares, where there is a turn-off to the Valgrande-Pajares resort.
All this makes Valgrande-Pajares an ideal place to get started in winter sports, ideal for families and groups.
But use of the resort is not restricted to the winter season. The resort and its surroundings are seeking to establish themselves as a paradise for trail running and cycling in Asturias. Trails that date back to Roman times, paths that until a few decades ago were used by the inhabitants to travel from one village to another, roads from which to contemplate spectacular landscapes or the highest concentration of mountain passes in the Peninsula for cycling enthusiasts will delight fans of these two sports disciplines.
Shuttle bus service weekends and holidays (21 December to 16 February). Departures from Gijón, Oviedo, Mieres and Pola de Lena, check more information here.
