Info
The tides and waves form part of its intense landscape. It is Tapia de Casariego, a coastal municipality in the west of Asturias, famous for the quality and beauty of its beaches - Serantes, La Paloma, Mexota, Santa Gadea, Penarronda or San Blas, among others -; for its excellent seafood gastronomy, for its stories of fishermen and sailors; for its viewpoints, for its forts overlooking the sea, or for its palaces and emblazoned houses such as Campos or Cancio...
The town of Tapia, capital of the council, has a pleasant promenade, with the occasional viewpoint, a charming port full of houses that seem to hang over the sea, and its bars. And to add a touch of 'hippie' and modernity, there is the beach of Anguileiro, well known for the surfing championship that has been held there for decades. There is also the old lighthouse, located on an islet connected to the land by a dyke, which gives it a different air... the same as the hidden lagoons of Salave, artificially formed thanks to the exploitation of an old Roman mine.
Population: 4,186 inhabitants
