The Church of San Pedro houses many valuable pieces, some dating from the 13th century

This museum is located within the grounds of the Convent of San Francisco del Monte, in the town of Tinéu. It displays valuable pieces of silverwork (collection of chalices, ciboriums, candlesticks, goblets, processional crucifixes and other religious objects); carved wooden statues (the medieval collection consists of 30 pieces from the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th centuries as well as 24 carvings from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries); liturgical vestments, sacred ornaments and a large collection of books (both religious and secular) with editions dating from 1522.

PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS
The museum is divided into a series of rooms:

  • Tribune Room: a compendium of religious statues, liturgical vestments and old books.
  • Sacred Goldwork Room.
  • 16th-century Imagery Room.
  • Romanesque Imagery Room (28 carvings).

 

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS

  • Collection of Processional Banners.
  • Collection of Brieviaries.
  • Collection of Sacred Objects.
  • Belongings of St Francis.
  • Restored Books belonging to the Tineo Museum of Sacred Art.
