Located in this hamlet in the borough of Taramundi inhabited for centuries by families of smiths, the house displays a collection of great cultural interest consisting of utensils and tools used on a typical farmstead in the area. It is very interesting for its collections of antiquities in danger of disappearing and for the great diversity of the objects on display (over a thousand), including the famous winch for loading crops, in use from the 1940s on and the 19th-century cabazo (raised granary-cum-storehouse), unique for its carved running balcony.
A walk through the 300-sq-m exhibition, accompanied by a guide, is enough to become acquainted with the tools our ancestors made and used (most of which were made in the borough of Taramundi), essential for survival in a rural area (carpentry, basket-making, clog-making, blacksmith tools and the like).
TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS
Accompanying this display-exhibition, there is an interesting forge shop where the famous M. Lombardía knives are still made.
