Housed in a unique building, the exhibition has been conceived as an essentially educational and informative cultural facility.
It has accordingly been fitted out with panels arranged thematically into four sections, adapting to the interior layout of the building itself: Introduction to the Educational Exhibition, the Kingdom of Asturias, Asturian Architecture and Santa Cristina de Lena. It also has several multimedia applications where visitors can expand on the information provided in the panels and watch computer graphics reconstructions of Santa Cristina de Lena, Santa María del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo. It also has a small hall for hosting small seminars, meetings and workshops related to the subject. Finally, it functions as tourist assistance centre for the borough of Lena and the Principality of Asturias, as well as for Asturian pre-Romanesque architecture in particular.
