Event declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Principality of Asturias.
The town of L'Arena hosts the Procession of San Juan, on the 24th of June, as part of the Festivities of San Juan.
After the mass in honour of the Patron Saint, at 13:00h, the streets
of the fishing village host this unique procession with deep roots,
which marked the beginning of the tuna fishing season when the town
was one of the most important fishing ports in Asturias, including the
blessing of the waters of the Bay of Biscay. At this time, the
sailors, carrying San Juan, San Telmo and the Virgen del Carmen,
approach the port.
