Turnip Festival. San Martín del Rey Aurelio

The town of Sotrondio celebrates the Turnip Festival.

The restaurants offer a stew, a typical spoon dish of the autumn and winter months, with turnipsas the main ingredient, followed by tripe and delicious desserts, such as rice pudding, frixuelos or casadielles.

This festival coincides with the feast of San Martín de Tours, and the Golden Turnip is awarded to outstanding personalities.

This event, which has been declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in the Principality of Asturias, is part of the traditional Turnip Gastronomic Days.
