Info
A tourist hotspot in a former whaling centre
It was a former whaling centre in medieval times and is now a major tourist attraction. This beach, which takes its name from the nearest village, stretches out in the shape of a shell, covered in pebbles and sand, set in a rural setting.
The beach is windy and the waves breaking on the shore are moderate.
It is easily accessible by car via a road from Cadavéu. There is also a large car park. These facilities mean that it is very busy in summer.
Rescue service
- From 1 July to 31 August: every day
Accessible points
- Ramp (does not reach the water’s edge)
- Accessible parking spaces.
If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted on the beach from 1 May to 30 September
- On seafront and urban promenades, in areas close to beach access points, pets are permitted provided they are kept on a fixed lead no longer than one metre and, where necessary due to the animal’s characteristics, must wear a muzzle.
