Located in the town of L' Entregu / El Entrego (San Martín del Rey Aurelio), it was conceived as a tribute to mining in Asturias

Designed as a tribute and facility to gather up the historical memory of mining for posterity, this museum comprises different areas displaying images of mining activities, machinery, minerals, literature and everything related to the sociological sphere of working in a mine (infirmary, bath houses, etc.).

Perhaps the most spectacular area is the mock-up mine, which reproduces the inside of a mine with astonishing realism (pit cage included). What's more, the museum is strategically located in an area where, just a short distance away, there is the historic San Vicente Pit, the first colliery to be self-managed by a mining union during the 1920s; Sotón Pit, still open and declared a Property of Cultural Interest; the Samuño Valley Ecomuseum; the set of bridges called "Los ingleses" and "Los gallegos", built by the Ferrocarril de Langreo railway company; and the Sociedad Metalúrgica Duro-Felguera metalworking factory. A veritable collection of remains and resources that make a true "golden mile" of industrial tourism.
