Info
This facility, conceived as a tribute and an installation that captures the historical memory of mining for posterity, consists of different areas where you can see images of mining activity, machinery, minerals, bibliography and everything related to the labour sociology of mining - infirmary, house-case, etc. -.
Perhaps the most spectacular space is the mine-image, where the interior of a mine is reproduced with true realism (including a 'cage'). Moreover, the museum is strategically located in an area where, just a few metres away, you can find the historic San Vicente shaft - the first self-managed by a mining union during the 1920s -; the Sotón shaft, still active and declared an Asset of Cultural Interest; the Samuño Valley Eco-museum; the Langreo Railway bridges 'Los ingleses' and 'Los gallegos', or the factory of the Sociedad Metalúrgica Duro-Felguera. A whole set of vestiges and resources that make up a true 'golden mile' of industrial tourism.
