This museum offers a tour of a significant sample of the glacial wildlife that inhabited the area of the Picos de Europa 45,000 years ago.

The Glacial Wildlife of the Picos de Europa Interpretation Centre is located in the old forge and Avín Cave (Onís). The tour begins with a trip back in time, using an animated reproduction that takes the visitor back 45,000 years, showing the glacial wildlife that inhabited the area of the Picos de Europa.

The cave includes life-size replicas of several examples of mammoth, giant deer, woolly rhino, saber tooth tiger, etc., and the reproduction of the fossil remains of a rhinoceros found in the nearby Pozu La Peruyal Cave.
