Besullo Visitor Centre. Alejandro Casona

The Visitor Centre is dedicated to Alejandro Casona, the famous playwright of the Generation of ’27 who was born in Bisuyu, and is housed in the village’s former school buildings. On the ground floor, the museum’s exhibition takes us on a journey through the history, traditions and customs of the local community, revealing its ethnographic and architectural richness and providing an overview of life in this rural village.

The upper floor is devoted entirely to the writer Alejandro Casona, offering a chronological journey through his life and work. It contains original items belonging to the author and a wide selection of his works, highlighting his relationship with and connection to Bisuyu.

In addition, the Centre has a small shop where visitors can buy handcrafted products made by the residents of Bisuyu and the surrounding parish. Basket weavers, blacksmiths and woodturners offer visitors small handcrafted souvenirs reflecting the traditions of basketry, blacksmithing and woodworking, which have been commonplace in the area since time immemorial and which still refuse to die out today.
