Info
The Cabrales Cave-Exhibition is an interpretative space dedicated to explaining the past and present of Cabrales cheese, one of the most emblematic products of Asturias, through guided tours lasting approximately forty-five minutes and with limited seating capacity.
The visit is structured in two parts of about twenty minutes each. The first takes place inside a natural cave, where the traditional cheese-making process is explained, as well as the environment and the way of life of the shepherds in the Picos de Europa. During this part of the tour, the temperature ranges between ten and fifteen degrees Celsius, so warm clothing is recommended.
The second part includes the projection of an audiovisual showing how cheese is made in a cheese factory today. The experience is rounded off with a tasting, which is the finishing touch to the visit.
It is advisable to arrive at least ten minutes before the start of the tour and to arrive at the booked time, as punctuality is essential. The last visit always takes place forty-five minutes before closing time, although times may vary depending on the number of visitors or the existence of reserved visits for groups, for which reason it is advisable to consult in advance. Prior booking is essential for groups and recommended for all visitors.
Due to the characteristics of the area, pets are not allowed inside the cave, although they may enter the outside area.
