Archivo de Indianos Foundation - Emigration Museum

This mansion, a clear example of the Indian architecture of the Cantabrian coast, was used for different social purposes until 1987, when it became the headquarters of the Archivo de Indianos Foundation, whose aim is to create an archive and museum focusing on the phenomenon of emigration to America.

In the Quinta Guadalupe, which is its name, some rooms have been reconstructed with furniture from the period, offering the visitor a reflection of the "Casa Indiana". The rest of the building is occupied by an exhibition on the different aspects of emigration: the departure of emigrants and the ports of destination, the great social centres of Spanish emigration, etc.

The visit to the Museum is free and the visit is estimated to last one and a half hours.
