Wood has been and continues to be a recurrent material in the history of Asturias, both in the construction of traditional buildings such as hórreos (raised granaries-cum-storehouses) and in the manufacture of utensils and items used in everyday country life.
This historical circumstance has contributed decisively to the geographic and thematic location of this facility, together with the fact that Caso is an area with a long-standing tradition in the manufacture of some of these elements, such as clogs.
