Penarronda Beach

All types of pets are forbidden.

This fine sandy beach, located between the councils of Castropol and Tapia de Casariego, between Punta de A Robaleira to the west and Punta del Corno to the east, occupies an area of 228,000^m2 divided by the Penarronda stream. In its western half, the north-westerly winds have created a dune field that shelters a varied flora.

The natural values that have led it to be declared a Natural Monument can be summed up in two facts: it marks the western end of the reduced nesting area of the Eurasian oystercatcher and it is the only locality of the sea wallflower(Malcomia Littorea) on the Asturian coasts.
