  • Peñarronda Beach is located between the boroughs of Castropol and Tapia de Casariego, between A Robaleira Point to the west and El Corno Point to the east.

Peñarronda Beach is a Natural Monument of fine sands in western Asturias.

This sandy beach, located between the boroughs of Castropol and Tapia de Casariego, occupies an area of ​​228,000 m2 divided by Peñarronda Stream.

In its western half, northwest winds have created a dune field which is home to a variety of flora.

The natural values ​​that have led to its listing as a natural monument can be summed up in two facts: it marks the western end of the reduced nesting area of ​​the Eurasian oystercatcher and it constitutes the only spot where Sand Stock (Malcolmia littorea) grows on the Asturian coast.
