Mountain House

Since 1987, our company has been offering a range of active tourism activities in the Picos de Europa and the eastern region of Asturias. Our options include hiking, mountaineering, trekking, Nordic walking, snowshoeing, orienteering and archery.

We specialise in designing multi-activity programmes tailored to the needs of families and small groups. Our itineraries are designed to allow you to enjoy the natural surroundings, with a clear focus on environmental conservation. From classic routes and mountain treks to gentle, healthy walks with Nordic walking, our programme covers a range of experiences for all ability levels. In winter, we explore the forests and winter mountains on snowshoes.

As a new addition, at Casa de la Montaña, we offer a fresh perspective on the area’s industrial and mining heritage. We explore the history of mountain mining, hydroelectric power stations and other pre-industrial remains in the outlying valleys of the Picos de Europa and the eastern coast of Asturias, such as lime kilns, old seaweed farms, mills and fulling mills. Our aim is to deepen your understanding of these mountains, steeped in history and shaped by adaptation to the harsh conditions of the mountains and the sea.

In addition, we complement our ecotourism offering with official tourist guide services, which include cultural tours of the areas surrounding the Picos de Europa and the main monuments of Asturias.
