Pilgrimage Routes to Covadonga: Routes and Stages

Many people throughout history have taken their steps to live their devotion to the Virgin in Cuadonga/Covadonga or simply to enjoy the spirituality and nature that can be experienced there. The steps of these travellers, most of them anonymous, have marked on the map routes and paths that lead from different places to the Sanctuary of Covadonga.

The result of this has been the consecration of several routes - today conveniently signposted as GR such as the classic route from Oviedo/Uviéu or its prologue in Mieres del Camín, which is the Pilgrimage Route; the Travesía Andariega that begins in Gijón/Xixón; the Camín del Oriente that from Llanes crosses the Cuera and enters the Picos de Europa, or the Route of the Reconquest.
