The towns of Arriondas/Les Arriondes and Ribadesella/Ribeseya, host one more year, possibly one of the most emblematic and important canoeing events in the world.
People from all over the world come to the east of Asturias to enjoy a sporting, fun and festive atmosphere.
The Friday before the event is the official opening of the Descent, from the balcony of the Parres Town Hall, the place where the competition starts, the flags of all the participating countries, of which there are more every year, are hoisted.
On this day, the parade of charangas, cider in abundance, the renowned Asturian gastronomy, and the anthem of Asturias, which marks the start of the event, cannot be missed.
