Oviedo/Uviéu
Oviedo/Uviéu hosts within its San Mateo festivities, a new edition of the Day of America in Asturias that fills the city with colour. It is a tribute that, since 1950, has been paid to Asturian emigrants in America and to the countries that have welcomed them.
The main event of this festive day consists of a massive parade of beautifully decorated floats through the streets of the centre of the capital. The procession will parade through Uría and around the Campo, starting at five in the afternoon, and will follow the following route: Independencia, Calle Uría, Marqués de San Cruz, Santa Susana, Avenida de Galicia, Plaza de América, Marqués de Teverga and Calle Asturias.
On this occasion, eleven "large" floats will be deployed, as well as some twenty haigas and classic vehicles, accompanied by numerous folk groups, pipers, music bands and extras. A multicoloured caravan with a wide representation of countries from the other side of the Atlantic.
