Located in the old cistern of the Bernardo Alfageme Canning and Cider Factory, the Permanent Exhibition of the Candás Canning Industry brings together, through original pieces and models, the history of canning in the town, paying tribute to all those who have participated in it in one way or another, contextualised within the canning industry at an international level.
The exhibition is divided into eight zones:
Zone 1.
Dedicated to the seafaring economy and explaining its main characteristics.
Zone 2.
Describing the techniques used to preserve food throughout history.
Zone 3.
It tells the story of the birth of canned preserves.
Zone 4.
It refers to the first canning factories that operated in the world.
Zone 5.
Explanation of the production process of a canning factory.
Zone 6.
Dedicated to the cannery workers.
Zone 7.
Focusing on the history of the canning industry in Candás.
Zone 8.
Analyses the current state of the canning industry and its future trends.
