A wide, family-friendly urban cove, very popular
The First and Second Beaches of Luarca are the beaches of the capital of the municipality of Valdés. Sheltered from the strong Cantabrian waves by the breakwaters built off the coast, they offer superb views of the marina and fishing harbour as they open out to sea.
They have dark sand. They are accessible by road and feature a seafront promenade which, together with their calm waters, makes them a very popular family leisure spot.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted on the beach from 1 May to 30 September
- On seafront and urban promenades, in areas close to beach access points, pets are permitted provided they are kept on a fixed lead no longer than one metre and, where necessary due to the animal’s characteristics, must wear a muzzle.
