La Cueva / La Arena Beach

Its easy access and extension means it is more crowded in summer

This beach, formed by dark sand and pebble, is situated at the mouth of the River Esva. It is bounded on its eastern side by the foothills of Cape Busto. It has the shape of a shell, is wide and is usually crowded. Not wheelchair accessible.

There are two direct main accesses depending on your needs. You can get right to the beach esplanade by car, from Caroyas. But you can also walk from a car park on the road from Canero. On foot, there are two routes, along the river bank or through the woods.

It forms part of the Western Coastline Protected Landscape.
