This beach, consisting of dark sand and pebbles, lies at the mouth of the River Esva and is bordered to the east by the foothills of Cabo Busto. It is shell-shaped, wide and very popular. It is not accessible.
There are two straightforward main access routes, depending on your needs. You can reach the beach by car or on foot from Caroyas, right down to the beach itself. Alternatively, you can walk from a designated car park on the road from Caneiru. On foot, there are two routes: along the river or through the woods.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted on the beach from 1 May to 30 September.
- On seafront and urban promenades, in areas close to beach access points, pets are permitted provided they are kept on a fixed lead no longer than one metre; where necessary due to the nature of the animal, they must wear a muzzle.
