A hundred metres of golden sand sheltered by Cape San Agustín
On the eastern side of Cape San Agustín, in the municipality of Coaña, lies Arnelles Beach, a small stretch of golden sand 100 metres long, with moderate waves and few visitors due to the fact that it can only be reached on foot.
Nestled in rugged surroundings, it is situated near the beautiful fishing port of Ortigueira, a place well worth a visit where you’ll find a range of facilities. It is well equipped.
The beach forms part of a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) and a Site of Community Importance (SCI).

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted on the beach from 15 June to 15 September.
- On seafront and urban promenades, in areas near beach access points, pets are permitted provided they are kept on a fixed lead no longer than one metre and, where necessary due to the animal’s characteristics, must wear a muzzle.
