A small, cosy beach situated right on Tapia’s seafront promenade.
It is a beach barely 40 metres long, with fine, golden sand and moderate waves, making it a low-risk beach. It forms part of the Natura 2000 network and is protected under the SPA and SAC designations.
Situated within Tapia’s large bay, it goes unnoticed amongst the expanse of other sandy beaches, making it one of the quietest and most secluded spots. It is mainly frequented by residents of the San Blas and La Guardia neighbourhoods, as the immediate access to other beaches such as La Grande or El Murallón attracts tourists.
It is bordered to the east by a uniquely eroded rock formation, which gives the beach its name. At low tide, it is possible to access the neighbouring beaches from here and continue on to Los Campos when the tide permits.
If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted on beaches or in bathing areas, except where this is necessary for activities duly authorised by the relevant health authority.
- In the case of stray animals wandering on the beaches, their owners shall be held responsible for them.
- Guide dogs are permitted on beaches when accompanied by the person they assist, without prejudice to the responsibility of their handler and/or owner, nor to the measures the owner must take to avoid causing a nuisance or posing a risk to other beach users.
- Anyone who breaches the prohibition set out in paragraph 1, or fails to comply with the conditions laid down in paragraph 3 above, must immediately leave the beach with the animal upon verbal request by law enforcement officers, who will draw up a report with a view to initiating the appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
