Golden sandy beach located next to the famous Las Gaviotas hill.

The mouth of the river Cecilio creates this beautiful sandy area.
Along the last few metres of the mouth of the Cecilio river, there is a sandy area dotted with rocks; this is the beach of La Huelga with moderate waves.
In the vicinity of the beach, specifically in Villaḥormes, you can see an islet known as "Castro de las Gaviotas", peculiar for its arch shape that seems to float over the Bay of Biscay.
To get there, take the crossroads that leads to ῌontoria from Villaḥormes, follow the signs to the beach and once there, all you have to do is sit down and enjoy the spectacle.
In the vicinity, different types of sport fishing are regularly practised .
If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- The access and presence of pets on the beach is prohibited from 01/06 to 30/09.
- In the case of abandoned animals wandering on the beaches, their owners will be responsible for them.
- Those who violate the prohibitions, or do not comply with the conditions set out above, must immediately leave the beach with the animal, at the verbal request of the Authority Agents or Rescue personnel, who will issue a report in order to investigate the appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
