It takes its name from an islet that can be reached on foot at low tide.
The beach of La Isla is a long golden sandy beach, 800 metres long, windy and with strong waves. The islet that gives it its name is located on the left side of the beach and is joined to it at low tide by a tombolo. To the east is an area called El Barrigón, another beach that can be reached at low tide.
In the area, there is a stretch of cliffs between 50 and 75 metres high with a great natural and cultural value, as remains from the Roman and Castro periods have been found in the vicinity.
