Meanders and islets creating a unique cove
Porcía is a triangular-shaped beach of pebbles and sand, shared by El Franco and Tapia de Casariego. The river of the same name flows into it, serving as a natural boundary between the two municipalities. It is notable for its river meanders and the Boy islets.
Easily accessible and well-serviced, the remains of an iron ore jetty and various bollards on the rocks for mooring boats can be seen from the beach. It attracts large numbers of visitors, perhaps partly due to its beauty, its golden sands and its particularly calm waters.
In Tapia de Casariego, it can be reached via the villages of Campos and Salave, and in El Franco via Valdepares.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are prohibited from entering beaches and bathing areas, except where this is necessary for activities duly authorised by the competent health authority.
- In the case of stray animals wandering on the beaches, their owners shall be held responsible for them.
- Guide dogs are permitted on beaches when accompanied by the person they assist, without prejudice to the responsibility of their handler and/or owner, nor to the measures the owner must take to prevent inconvenience or risk to other beach users.
- Anyone who breaches the prohibition set out in point 1, or fails to comply with the conditions laid down in point 3 above, must immediately leave the beaches with the animal upon verbal request by law enforcement officers, who will draw up a report for the purposes of initiating the appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
