A golden cove in the heart of the tourist centre
Santa María del Mar / El Puertu has two beaches, La Llada and El Puerto. El Puerto is sandy and La Llada has a garden area with picnic tables and a small bar.
The beach is at the mouth of the river Ferrera.
With two campsites nearby, it is surrounded by the village of Santa María del Mar / El Puertu. As a curiosity, it is worth mentioning that to its right is La Ladrona, an islet with an obscure legend that says that a giant squid used to live in its caves.

- The access and presence of pets on the beach is prohibited from 15/05 to 15/09.
- On the promenades, in the vicinity of the beaches, except in the dune systems and on the peninsula of La Peñona, pets are allowed all year round, but must always be kept on a fixed leash of no more than two metres in length and, when necessary due to the characteristics of the animal, must be muzzled.
