It is the only beach in Gijón/Xixón where dogs are allowed all year round.
Playa del Rinconín, also known as El Cervigón, is an extension of Los Mayanes beach. It is a small cove consisting mainly of rocks and pebbles. It is very popular with visitors and is well equipped.
Swimming is recommended with caution. Sports such as spearfishing and snorkelling can be practised here. This is the starting point of the 9.3-kilometre El Rinconín–La Ñora trail, which is suitable for walking and cycle touring.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- They must be vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped.
- Owners must carry the animal’s valid documentation with them at all times.
- They may be off the lead, provided they are under the supervision of their owner or the person responsible for them, who is also liable for any damage caused by the animal. They must always be accompanied by an adult and must not cause a nuisance to other users.
- Dogs classified as P.P.P. must always be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle.
- Owners or carers must carry bags to collect the animal’s faeces and dispose of them in the designated bins or containers.
