Wine Museum

The main building houses the permanent exhibition, which visitors can explore at their own pace and which offers an insight into the history of wine in Cangas, the work carried out in the vineyard and the winery, the native grape varieties and the unique characteristics of a viticulture shaped by the steep slopes of the terrain. Traditional artefacts, audiovisual materials and various interpretative elements help visitors to understand the evolution of this wine-growing culture and its importance to the area.

The complex also includes the Lagar de Santiso, a traditional wine press with an ethnographic character, which can be explored on a guided tour. Over the course of about 20 minutes, the tour explains how wine was made in the past and showcases a remarkable beam press. Due to limited capacity, it is recommended to book in advance.

Families with children aged between 5 and 12 can also enjoy Marco Topo, an educational and interactive experience that invites visitors to explore the museum by completing various challenges. The activity combines printed materials and digital content; it can be accessed via a mobile phone or tablet and does not require downloading any apps. It is included in the admission price.

To round off the experience, the Wine Trail connects the Santiso wine-making district with other nearby sites and offers a different way of exploring the wine-growing landscape of Cangas del Narcea.
