Located in the fishing town of Luanco, it is devoted to maritime activity in its many manifestations.

Responding to the concern in Asturias for the marine world, this facility provides a complete overview of the various activities, documents, books and images related to seafaring life. A life, which in the present case, exists within the context of industrial activities linked to the sea, such as canning, once a booming industry in the area around Cape Peñas.

In fact, the old Albo canning factory is just a few kilometres from the museum, in the nearby fishing town of Candás. Also very close to Luanco is the Llumeres Mines Historic Site, old iron mines where visitors can still admire the original buildings dating from the 19th century and a small romantic harbour built expressly to transport ore to Gijón and from there to La Felguera. Old stories of the sea and the mine, whose imprint is always a pleasure for the visitor in search of hidden treasures.
