Its main exhibitions deal with the life and work of illustrious personalities from Luarca-Valdés such as Severo Ochoa (Nobel Prize for Medicine born in Luarca), Margarita Salas (internationally renowned scientist and disciple of D. Severo Ochoa), Gil Parrondo (artistic director and winner of two Hollywood Oscars, among others), Festival Vaqueiro y de la Vaqueirada - Carmen Martínez "Carminina" and Nené Losada (poetess from Luarca).
It is a space for cultural and scientific dissemination (legacy of Margarita Salas and Severo Ochoa) located in the heart of the historic centre of Luarca/Ḷḷuarca, next to the Palace of the Marquis of Ferrera and in the iconic staircase street of Olavarrieta (popularly known as Los Escalerones).

If you travel with your pet you should know that...

- Pets other than dogs are allowed:
There is no size limitation, as long as they remain on a leash at all times.
In the case of P.P.P. breed dogs, they must be kept on a leash and muzzled.
The owner must keep an eye on his pet.
