Interpretation Centre of the Villaviciosa Estuary

The Reception and Interpretation Centre of the Partial Nature Reserve of the Villaviciosa Estuary is located on the left bank of the estuary, on the banks of the road that leads to the port of El Puntal.

The Centre offers visitors a permanent exhibition with documented information on the extraordinary environmental values of the estuary that have led to its declaration as a nature reserve.

The exhibition is staffed by a nature guide and includes multimedia content on the dynamics of the tides and an interactive virtual flight over the estuary.

It also has a series of panels specially designed for children, in which a little plover explains to the youngest visitors the importance of conserving this type of ecosystem.

The exhibition is complemented by a documentary on the estuaries of Asturias, which can be viewed in the audiovisual room.

The centre's guide will give us the opportunity to go birdwatching from outside the facility, with the help of binoculars, telescope and bird guides, and will also advise us on the countless possibilities that the reserve offers us to enjoy nature.
