Info
The 16th-century Palacio de Omaña has a square floor plan around an interior courtyard with columns. In order to adapt to the terrain, the palace has two storeys higher on the sides than in the centre. The main decorative elements of the palace are located on this façade.
The entrance door, off-centre from the axis of the building, is a large round arch opening onto a stone wall with two coats of arms at the corners. Above the doorway, there is a small Renaissance window surrounded by three coats of arms.
In the towers, the symmetry of the openings can be seen, with the one on the left retaining an old stone window.
The balcony and the two arches that open on the right in the central body are from this century.
The materials used in the construction are mixed rendered masonry for the walls and ashlar for the openings and corners.
For several years now, the Palace has been the headquarters of the Casa de Cultura de Cangas del Narcea, after undergoing a major interior refurbishment.
