Church of the Monastery of San Antolín de Bedón
Llanes (Eastern Asturias)
A privately-owned church dating from the 12th century, which is all that remains of the monastery.

The monastic complex of San Antolín de Bedón was one of the most important in the Middle Ages, bearing in mind that it was on the coastal road of the Way of St James.

Today only the church remains standing, with three naves and an east end with three semi-circular apses. It has a transept that stands out in terms of height but not width, and a dome over the crossing.

The decoration is very simple. It is limited to a number of corbels (some of which have been restored) with many figurative motifs in different states of conservation.

The church is located next to the coastal path, a short distance from San Antolín Beach.
