Bernueces Cider Cider Cider Mill

Llagar Bernueces, founded in 1881, is one of the oldest in Asturias and the oldest in Gijón. With more than a century of history, it has established itself as a benchmark in the cider tradition, passed down from generation to generation within the same family. Almost two decades ago, its facilities were extended to include a restaurant and rooms for events, combining its own production of natural cider with a gastronomic offer of Asturian cuisine. The complex is located in a natural setting close to the city, a few kilometres from San Lorenzo beach and the Botanical Gardens.

Guided tours of the cider press allow visitors to learn about the historical evolution of the facility from its founding to the present day, as well as the process of making Asturian cider. The tour includes an explanation of the production phases, a visit to the facilities and a final tasting of different products made in the cider press itself, such as natural barrel cider, sweet cider and cider sangria.

During the activity there is also a practical introduction to cider pouring, linked to this Asturian cultural tradition. The visit, which lasts approximately 45 minutes, is open to the general public, although children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by adults.
