Info
Situated in the municipality of Corvera de Asturias, some two kilometres from Nubledo, the Trasona Reservoir serves industrial purposes and provides a water supply when required. It has a shoreline of approximately 4.9 kilometres and a catchment area of 37 km².
Trasona is particularly notable for its close association with canoeing and rowing. Its waters are home to the Trasona Sports Training Centre, a leading facility for athlete training and the hosting of competitions. This sporting significance also carries considerable international prominence, as Trasona is set to host the 2028 European Olympic Sprint Championships.
In addition to sporting activities, the reservoir offers opportunities for fishing and is of considerable ornithological interest. Waterfowl and herons, amongst other waterbirds, can be observed in the surrounding area, and the site has been designated a Game Reserve.
On both shores of the reservoir there are two recreational areas, known as Gavitos and Overo, which offer spaces to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
It is easily accessible from Nubledo via the AS-17 road, making Trasona a readily accessible destination both for sporting activities and for enjoying its recreational areas and observing the wildlife associated with the reservoir.
