Spicy Surf

The Picante Surf School is a leading name in the world of surfing, located in the port of Tapia de Casariego. Since its inception in the 1990s, it has been a pioneer in teaching this sport in western Asturias and the Mariña Lucense region. We offer a wide range of programmes tailored to all ages and ability levels, from beginner group lessons to advanced training and competition programmes.

During the summer, the school is open to anyone wishing to enjoy, learn or improve their surfing. We offer two-hour group lessons that include all necessary equipment and insurance. Groups are formed according to the participants’ ability and age, ranging from 6-year-old mini-surfers to adults. We also offer special inclusive lessons for people with intellectual disabilities, in collaboration with local organisations.

During the winter, we offer weekend programmes, training courses, extracurricular surfing and competition training. Our qualified and experienced instructors are a vital part of our family of surfers and professionals. Many of them were once pupils at our school and now share their passion for surfing with our students.

One of the Picante Surf School’s flagship projects is the Tapiego Surf Championship, a not-for-profit event that promotes surfing at a local level and has become a benchmark in the area.
