With good links to the major towns and cities in Asturias and León, this ski resort located in the borough of Lena is one of the oldest in Spain.

It has skiable area of 21.5 km, access to which is provided via 4 drag lifts and 5 chairlifts with a carrying capacity of around 7,000 passengers/hour. It also has a cross-country ski course, a snow park in the upper area of the resort, and a stadium for competitions, all making it possible to practise various forms of skiing.

It has an artificial snow-making system with snow cannons distributed along 3 km of runs.

Hotel and hostel accommodation right on the slopes for one hundred and fifty skiers and other accommodation for 500 more within 3 to 50 km.

Strategically located (just over half an hour from Oviedo, Gijón and León), it is one of the few ski areas with two-lane access roads both in and out.

The resort can be accessed both from the Asturian side and from León via the N-630 main road linking Oviedo and León over Pajares Mountain Pass, where the turnoff to the Valgrande-Pajares ski resort is located.

All this makes Valgrande-Pajares an appropriate place for beginning to practise winter sports, ideal for families and groups.
