Gastronomic Festival His Excellency the Fabada

The reading of the proclamation is one of the moments that arouses most expectation, given that it is usually read by a personality - whether local, regional or national - linked to the world of gastronomy, politics or information. In addition, to round off the event, a bagpipe band and a choir provide the entertainment.

During the opening ceremony, the prize-giving ceremony for the International Photography Competition "The mine and the sea" is held, and visitors can enjoy the exhibition of the most outstanding works from this competition. This exhibition then travels to different towns in Asturias.

There is also a fabada tasting during the three days of the festival in the restaurants of La Felguera (Langreo).

And of course, another festive attraction is the fabada competition.

There is no doubt that, in addition to the great festive-gastronomic atmosphere in La Felguera, the uniqueness of this celebration is also due to the product: beans are eminently Asturian, and one of the main culinary emblems of Asturias.

With almost 40 years of history, this festival is held during the second weekend of December.
