Event declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Principality of Asturias.

Gijón/Xixón once again celebrates Antroxu, which is the name used to describe Carnival in Asturias.

It is the time of costumes, charangas, parades and the expected parade on Antroxu Monday, which ends on Shrove Tuesday, with the reading of the will and the famous burial of the Sardine.

During the celebration of these festivities you can also enjoy the Antroxu Menu consisting of Asturian stew, picadillo, frisuelos or picatostes.
