The Day of the Villages of Asturias celebrates the twinning and solidarity between the different Asturian villages, highlighting both what they share and what is unique to each place. A day to enjoy the traditions, gastronomy and folklore that unites us...
Each year a village in Asturias is honoured with the Dove of Fraternity, and its people are welcomed in Navelgas with the affection and hospitality that are the hallmark of this village and, in general, of the rural world of Asturias. The celebration is also joined by neighbours of localities distinguished in previous editions, together with visitors and tourists, creating a great festive atmosphere.
During the institutional act, the Chosco de Oro (Golden Chosco) is also awarded to people and institutions that stand out in the promotion, dissemination and defence of Asturias, and the Arándano de Plata (Silver Cranberry), which distinguishes people or groups that stand out for their contributions in the field of ethnography, folklore, gastronomy, music and other cultural manifestations...
