Stuffed Peppers Festival. San Martín del Rey Aurelio
Blimea
This festival is linked to the traditional culture of the mining area, which cultivates the culinary art and combines it with the exaltation of friendship around the table. The local catering trade will be serving a delicious menu consisting of roasted or baked peppers, stuffed with meat or tuna, accompanied by a portion of tripe and frisuelos, washed down with cider or wine.
The gastronomic days of the Stuffed Peppers will be enlivened by a cultural and leisure programme that includes the reading of the opening speech by Alba Escobio Sánchez, former president of the Asturias Sports Club, from Blimea, and the presentation of the golden pepper to Ana María Sánchez Fernández, a nurse at the Sotrondio health centre.
Children's workshop, bagpipe and drum parades, the performance of the Masa Coral de Laviana, stuffed pepper competition, vermouth session, Christmas market, theatre and open-air dances complete the festive programme.
