The town of Arriondas/Les Arriondes is hosting a new edition of the Fiestas del Bollu from 24 to 27 July. Over the course of four days, the town will host a packed programme of activities combining tradition, music, folklore and events for all ages.
The programme kicks off on Friday 24th with ‘Noche Joven’, featuring concerts, DJ sets and activities aimed at young people.
On Saturday 25th, the traditional Kermesse will take place, a day dedicated to the members of the Sociedad La Peruyal, featuring a pilgrimage, dancing and a street party.
The most eagerly awaited moment will come on Sunday 26th, with the celebration of Bollu Day. The day will begin with the traditional Folklore Parade, featuring dance groups, bagpipe bands and brass bands from Asturias and other parts of Spain. In the afternoon, the parade of floats will wind its way through the town’s streets to the Paseo de la Concordia, where the traditional distribution of the ‘bollu preñáu’ and a bottle of wine to members will take place.
The festivities will conclude on Monday 27th with the ‘Bollín’, a day specially designed for children, featuring traditional games, a foam party and family activities.
At dusk, the brass bands will lead the popular ‘Agua, agua’ parade, one of the most distinctive moments of these festivities, before the open-air dance that will bring the celebrations to a close.
