Queen Urraca comes to life once more for a festive weekend
Info
In early May, the village of Pelúgano holds its medieval festival, an event based on the legend that Doña Urraca, queen consort of Navarre in the 12th century, was born in this village in the borough of Aller. For a weekend, its streets take on the typical appearance of the time of Doña Urraca, including a market with plenty of crafts stalls and different sorts of workshops. The festival also has a gastronomic component, as you can enjoy a medieval roast lamb banquet on Saturday and a street party on Sunday.
