A nature reserve made up of sand, dunes and marshes.
The Barayo Nature Reserve is made up of the final stretch of the river with which it shares its name, dunes, marshes and a wild beach of dark sand. The sandy area is made up of two tongues of sand, the one that covers the front of the coast and a second one that serves as a shore for the fresh waters.
Access to the beach is pedestrian and is located between the towns of Sabugo in Valdés and Vigo in Puerto de Vega (Navia). From Vigo you can reach it by car to a car park in the upper part of the beach, and from there a gently descending forest path leads you on a pleasant stroll of about 800 m. to the beach.
From Sabugo you can also get there by car to an esplanade where there is a car park and then continue on foot along a forest path.
