Info
This centre is housed in a two-storey rural mansion built in the 18th century, which has undergone successive extensions and modifications. The building is made up of three sections, the central one more advanced, and two lateral ones in which the corridors on the first floor stand out.
The ground floor houses the reception, the shop, a multi-purpose room, offices and workshops for various uses. The museum itself is located on the upper floor. Some of the spaces into which it has been divided bear a name related to the novel "The Lost Village".
In the centre we can see a series of permanent exhibitions:
The Man. The author's microcosm. The human environment and the natural environment in which he was born.
The literary work. A reflection of his literary production and its dissemination. We can hear his voice and listen to some excerpts from the novels.
Nolo and Demetria. The peasant's rhythm of life is marked by daily activities and the seasonal cycle. The novelist describes landscape, characters, places, dwellings and activities.
Pluto and Joyana. A new way of earning a living is born. Work in the interior, the sound of the pickaxe against the rock replaces the clatter of the hammer as it strikes. Blackness, explosions, debris, wagons, noise, coal, a lot of coal...
The territory. A space populated since ancient times that brings together rural and urban characteristics. Agricultural and livestock activities coexist with the exploitation of coal and natural spaces.
