This centre is located in a two-storey country house built in the 18th century, which has undergone successive extensions and modifications. The building consists of three structures, the central one protruding more than the others, and two wings to the side with noteworthy examples of running balconies on the upper floor.
PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS
The centre is divided into two floors. The ground floor houses a reception area, a shop, a multi-purpose room, offices and workshops for various uses.
The museum per se is located upstairs. Some of the areas in which it has been divided have a name associated with the novel "La Aldea Perdida".
Man.The microcosmos of the author. The social and natural setting into which he was born.
Literary work. A reflection of his literary production and its dissemination. Visitors can hear his voice and listen to an excerpt from his novels.
Nolo and Demetria". The pace of everyday life of the peasant is signposted by daily activities and the seasons. The novelist describes scenery, characters, places, homes and activities.
Pluto and Joyana.A new way of making a living is born. Underground work, the sound of the pick striking against the rock, replaces the rasping of the hammer when honing the sickle. Blackness, explosions, tailings, wagons, noise, coal, lots of coal...
The territory.An area settled since ancient times which brings together rural and urban characteristics. Farming and livestock breeding activities coexist with coal mining and rustic spaces.
